10 Tips for Healthy Skin

Posted on: April 30th, 2012 by Admin

Radiant skin not only makes you appear youthful, it is also a sign of good health. To keep your skin healthy and glowing, follow these skin care tips:

  • Moisturize: Your skin needs moisture, and lots of it, in order to stay supple and beautiful. Find a high-quality organic moisturizer that works for your skin type and use it daily.
  • Protect: Every day of the year, no matter the season, your skin is exposed to the sun’s rays. Sunscreen is essential for healthy skin. Try an organic SPF moisturizer to cover two essentials in one step.
  • Hydrate: If your body isn’t healthy and hydrated, you skin isn’t likely to look that way either. Get your daily allowance of water to nourish your entire body, skin and all.
  • Cleanse: Natural oils from the skin, dirt and grime from everyday life, and makeup can all wreak havoc on your skin by clogging pores. Cleanse your skin at least once daily with a mild cleanser and let your pores breathe.
  • Exfoliate: As the skin renews itself, the old, dead skin cells sometimes need a little extra help falling off. Gentle exfoliation, either at home or with microdermabrasion, gets rid of those old cells so the new ones can shine through.
  • Rejuvenate: We all need a break sometimes, and that includes your skin. If you are a regular makeup-wearer, consider allocating one day per week to go au natural. This gives your skin a chance to breathe and relax. A facial from a spa can also be extremely beneficial for rejuvenation.
  • Pamper…Naturally: Whether you visit a spa regularly or pamper yourself at home, it is important only to apply natural and organic products to your skin. Avoid harsh chemicals and products with filler ingredients.
  • Temperature: Don’t set the water in the shower too hot, lest you damage your skin.
  • Balance: In dry climates and in the winter, use a humidifier to balance the humidity in the room so that your skin doesn’t dry out.
  • Rest: Stress and fatigue is bad for your body and bad for your skin. Get your sleep to restore your body—and your skin.
