Mary Tolbert, Atlanta Institute of Aesthetics graduate, esthetics instructor, and entrepreneur is giving back once again in her new role as a student mentor. Mary brings expertise and compassion with her extensive life experiences and background. She values the abundance of support she received throughout the years by the ASM Wellness community and is passionate about giving back. Her role as mentor enables her to support students and the instructors. Being a student once herself, Mary understands the challenges that can arise when trying to balance school, work, family, financial obligations, and self care. In addition to mentorship Mary also sees her role as counselor and friend.
Her professional experience brings a wide range of business strategies, marketing skills and expertise to share with students. Mary was a full-time esthetics instructor for 3 years, built a successful business as co-owner of Georgia Aesthetic Med Spa, helped launch and manage several skincare businesses, and worked closely with the Association of Georgia Alliance of Aesthetic Professionals (GAAP) as recruiter and executive director.
Mary’s recent life experience as a cancer survivor has no doubt strengthened her already strong character. Mary is a delightful person and pleasure to be around. She’s outgoing, friendly and empathetic. After finding out she had cancer (exactly a year ago), chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, radiation and other preventative treatments she is cancer-free and gradually getting stronger. Mary turns this sort of thing into a positive, that’s Mary. The woman exudes gratitude and inspiration, she is extraordinary. The ASM community is honored to have Mary Tolbert as the keynote speaker for next week’s graduation.
Beautiful Piece!!
