De-tox your skincare regime by blending your own natural, face oils, toners, masks, body scrubs & conditioning treatments. As we absorb about 60% of what we put on our skin, ingredients are important. One of the greatest advantages of using natural ingredients is that they do not contain industrial and toxic chemicals that are often found in many popular, commercial, skincare products. Some ingredients actually harm the skin and body when absorbed through the skin over a long period of time. Here are some of my favorite, natural skincare treatments that are perfect for this wintery, dry time of year!
Remove makeup with coconut or jojoba oil. This works extremely well in removing mascara. Use a tiny amount on a cotton ball or cloth.
Massage about 2 tablespoons coconut oil or olive oil into your hair and scalp. The amount you’ll use should vary depending on the length and thickness of your hair. Leave on for 20 minutes under your shower cap while you soak in the bath or while in the sauna at the gym.
Mix quality natural oils such as argan, jojoba, coconut, flax, shea, and macadamia with a drop of your favorite essential oil. These oils are easily absorbed by the skin and also contain a small amount of sun protection. Essential oils are potent so use sparingly.

Combine 1 C. coconut oil ½ C. brown sugar ¼ C. honey for a moisturizing body scrub. Play around with adding different essential oils and even spices like cinnamon, cardamom & pumpkin or grate citrus peels such as grapefruit, orange, lime into the mix.
Mix unscented liquid castile soap & drop of your favorite essential oil.
Mix witch hazel with a drop of calming lavender or rose essential oil in a small spray bottle.
